Visualising Waves
volumetric rendering of 3D waves

artists impression

The question in this passage is: How can electromagnetic fields around us actually "look like".

This image represents refractions. According to the Huygens principle each point at the wavefront can be seen as emitter of an infinite number of waves. We are calculating waves in abstract rooms. Each space-point will have polarity, amplitude and phase of the wave stored. With volumetric renderings we can look through 3D space in parallel or view a specific area of interest.

Wellenvisualisierungen

Obiges Bild zeigt Lichtbrechnungen.
